During my time at Yext, I served as a de facto Product Manager for the design system. With a dedicated engineering team at our disposal to create components and keep the system up to date, it was my responsibility to manage their backlog. This included designing components myself, getting designs from the rest of my team, and navigating the complex relationships between Product, Design, and Engineering.
At Rainmaker, I worked with my direct report to create an entirely new design system from the ground up. From fonts, to colors, to components, we created everything while relying on various sources of inspiration (Material Design, DaisyUI, Tailwind). I was also responsible for getting every component into our Engineering queue and working with the engineers to get the system into place.
