Summary
Games sometimes sell cosmetics ahead of launch in order to fundraise their development. This was particularly popular with web3 games, and we built a launchpad to support them.
Timeline
~2 weeks of design time
Disclaimer
I inherited a lot of the design system elements shown below. Most notably the colors, button styles, and fonts all proposed unique challenges. Ultimately, my co-designer and I redid the design system to tackle these challenges.

As web3 gaming was taking off, Rainmaker wanted to be a resource to both gamers and games. Our intention was to provide high-quality SaaS products to a fledgling industry, and building an NFT Launchpad was one way to support that.
A launchpad is essentially an online store. There are visual products to purchase (that will eventually become in-game cosmetics), and users might want to buy them just like they would from any online shop like Etsy or Amazon. However, there are a decent number of complications, including:
- Whitelists
- Phased selling periods
- Crypto-based checkout processes
Below are a few examples of the pages I designed for our launchpad, which we were able to design and build in about 4 weeks. Unfortunately, the market collapsed right after this and we abandoned the project soon after.
